Cross-Banded Border

English 1795-1810

The Cross Banded Border is a simple neo-classical secondary design. The document is found as frame on the Cupid and Psyche panels in the Adelphi archive. These sorts of borders can also be used to frame architectural elements, including doors and windows, as well as decorative panels such as the original Cupid and Psyche or Adelphi's Fragonard panels.
