English circa 1768

This border was hung with the coordinating Pagoda pattern in the rear stair hall of the 1768 Jeremiah Lee Mansion in Marblehead, Massachusetts. (Interestingly, it has also been discovered used as a sidewall paper in a period dollhouse.) Typical of the 1760s, it is relatively narrow and designed to be used around all margins of the wall plus as an outline for doors and windows.

This pattern is licensed to Adelphi Paper Hangings by the Marblehead Museum & Historical Society.
