Collins Place Medallion

American, circa 1815-1830

Description

Sizeable fragments of this pattern were discovered, pasted to the sheathing at “Collins Place” in North Reading, Massachusetts. While the structure itself dates from approximately 1785 the wallpaper was added at a later date.

Though it consists of only one printed color on a ground the design structure produces a deceptively elegant pattern when installed. It would lend itself to either dramatic or subtle contrasts in a custom color project.

Imperial Measurements: Repeat 9 ⅛ inches, width 19 ½ inches, length 11 yards, straight match.

Metric Measurements: 23 cm, 47 cm, 10 m.
