Diana

American, circa 1785-1790

This pattern is licensed to Adelphi Paper Hangings by The House of the Seven Gables.

Description

Examples of this pattern have been discovered in Acton and Plymouth, Massachusetts, Suffield, Connecticut as well the House of the Seven Gables in Salem – the sample Adelphi referenced for the reproduction.

Comparing several of these documents illustrates the varying skills of early American printers. The original Seven Gables fragments are rather more “casual” in terms of alignment. We can, on request, replicate this effect but generally opt for a more accurate printing.

Imperial Measurements: Repeat 42 inches, width 21 ⅛ inches, length 11 yards, straight match.

Metric Measurements: 106.6 cm, 53.6 cm, 10 m.
