There is evidence that this pattern was another of those French papers that President Andrew Jackson selected for his Tennessee home (see Hermitage Leaf Border and Hermitage Maple Leaf). Unfortunately, an entire repeat of the pattern has not been found.
When the Ladies’ Hermitage Association commissioned a reproduction, historic wallpaper expert Laura McCoy composed this accurate replication by comparing the pattern with others from the manufacturer, Jacquemart et Bernard, as well as papers with similar motifs from other firms of the period.
Imperial Measurements: Repeat 18 ⅜ inches, width 18 ⅜ inches, length 11 yards, straight match.
Metric Measurements: 46.7 cm, 46.7 cm, 10 m.
