Sawtooth and Guilloche Border

French, circa 1800

Description

This pattern was discovered hanging with a plain paper on the walls of Selsø Slot (castle) in Denmark. Of French origin, it dates from about 1800. It is representative of the fashion for geometric and abstracted organic forms that swept the wallpaper world beginning almost exactly at the beginning of the 19th century. It can be printed in any color on any ground. We recommend matching the ground to the paper one is using. It is appropriate for interiors dating 1800-1815.

Imperial Measurements: Repeat 4 inches, width 3 ½ inches
