Sayre Sawtooth Border

American (New England) circa 1800-1810


This border was found hung in the 1807 Sayre House in Milford, New York. The bold use of geometry typifies the fashion around the turn of the century. It is narrow and appropriate for any paper 1795 – 1815.

Imperial Measurements: Repeat ¾ inches, width 1 ¾ inches

Metric Measurements: 1.9 cm, 4.4 cm.



Samples are available for all Adelphi Paper Hangings patterns. Standard pattern samples are 12 inches by 23 inches and are available for $15. for each pattern. Small samples, business envelope size, are available on request, at no charge (limited to 10 per customer).
